Yana Kusayeva is a research and management analyst at MDRC, a nonprofit social policy research organization. In 2013–2014, she served as an analyst for the College Match project, an intervention designed to improve the college application and selection choices made by moderate- and high-performing low-income students. As part of her duties in this role, she helped to develop a month-long training on ‘best match and fit’ for college advisers in the New York City pilot program, assisted with program operations during the academic year, and coauthored “In Search of a Match: A Guide for Helping Students Make Informed College Choices.” Before joining MDRC, Kusayeva was assistant director of an interdisciplinary global leadership program at Adelphi University. She also cofounded Dialogue Beyond Borders, an educational human rights and anti-bias nonprofit organization, where she served as board president until 2015. Kusayeva holds a BA in international studies from Adelphi University’s Honors College, a certificate in advanced international studies from Bard College’s Globalization and International Affairs program, and an MPA in public and nonprofit policy and management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
